Long before arguing cases in state and federal courts, John A. DeGasperis, Esq. was a student-athlete at Kingston High School, Class of 2001. He balanced academics with weightlifting, football, and baseball—experiences that helped shape the discipline and work ethic he carries into his legal career.
After high school, John earned an Associate’s Degree from SUNY Ulster, a B.A. from SUNY Albany, and his Juris Doctor from Albany Law School. During law school, he spent a semester in Washington, D.C. working with the United States Department of Justice, gaining firsthand experience in the federal legal system.
John has appeared in courtrooms across New York State and beyond, including Washington, D.C. He later returned to the U.S. Capitol to be admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, where he met two Justices, including the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Today, John is a partner at New York Injury Law and a leading legal educator on social media, reaching more than 220,000 followers. Proud to be recognized by Kingston High School, he remains deeply connected to the community that shaped him.
